I like this shot in color because you can see how blue the sky in the water's reflection. And I think you get a better idea of how blazing the sun is even in its pale winter incarnation.
At the same time, I also really like it in black and white. It's closer to how I saw the scene on this day because I was pretty snow-blind by the time I took this shot. And I love how stark and patterny it is.
